"Baixa das Castanhetas" is worth mentioning – and diving – due to the significant depth differences, making this spot very versatile and appropriate for various types of diving experiences.
This place is also diverse in its landscape, exhibiting tunnels, caves, and canyons that almost look like a maze.
There is a large cavern about 12 meters deep where you can enter by three different entrances. Inside, there is usually a huge school of White Trevally of considerable size.
After the entrance, we continued our exploration through a long and not very wide tunnel. On its walls, we could observe nudibranchs and some small fish.
When we leave the tunnel and are outside again, we have big shoals of yellow Damselfish, Groupers, etc. Here, we have a vertical wall that falls to 45 meters, allowing us to see, sometimes, Manta rays swimming all the way around.
