This dive is located just 3 minutes by boat from Porto das Velas. The Baixio da Ponta Queimada consists of a coastal "low" located about 250m from the coast in front of the town of Burned. The "low" consists of an extensive platform with depths that vary between 10-24 meters falling at its end to 60-70 meters, depending on the diving profile choice. Part of this site can be visited by less experienced divers since there are favourable conditions, calm and uncharged sea. The mount top exploration involves depths between 10 and 24mts. It is also an ideal place for deep explorations for technical divers since the low falls abruptly to the 60-70 mts.
The top of the "low" is formed by corridors (formed by lava flows), small caves and crevices full of life, filled with several species of Morays and small bottom fishes. At the lower end, we have the possibility to observe shoals of passing fish such as White Trevally and Amberjacks.
