Its name is due to the fact that it is made at the opening of the crater of the Monte da Guia volcano, which communicates with the sea at its southern end.
In the border zone of the crater and the sea, there is a platform at about 10mts of depth where we can see Morays, Queenfish and Parrotfish among many other species.
This platform then falls on a vertical wall to 30mts, where we can see a resident Grouper and Dogfish.
There is a small cave with a large branch of black coral.
The wall then continues its descent to about 50mts.
