The marine reserve area of downtown Pedrinha is one of the best known and easily accessible dive sites on the Island of Santa Maria. Easy and great for night dives and snorkeling.
With a large platform full of small shoals of fish between 6-10mts deep, the low falls in the North side up to 20mts and in the South side up to 40mts. This allows diving for beginners or for the more experienced.
This dive offers several circuits between 3 different caves and a large slit that rises from 17mts to the top of the low. With the increase of depth, and in particular around its deepest cave full of colorful Anthias, are large Groupers and Dogfish. It is also usual to observe great shoals of pelagic fish and even Manta rays.
